If you want to become a member of our Legion family and meet the requirements of one of the groups below, come down to the Post, we will be happy to help you with the process,

 

 

Eligibility Requirements for American Legion Membership

If you are currently on active duty, serving the United States honorably, anywhere in the world, or have served honorably during any of the following eligible war eras, we invite you to become a member of The American Legion. National Guard and Reservists having been Federally activated (including basic training) during these same war eras also meet the eligibility requirements.

  • Aug. 2, 1990 to today (Gulf War / War On Terrorism)
  • Dec. 20, 1989 to Jan. 31, 1990 (Panama)
  • Aug. 24, 1982 to July 31, 1984 (Lebanon / Grenada)
  • Feb. 28, 1961 to May 7, 1975 (Vietnam War)
  • June 25, 1950 to Jan. 31, 1955 (Korean War)
  • Dec. 7, 1941 to Dec. 31, 1946 (World War II)
  • April 6, 1917 to Nov. 11, 1918 (World War I)
 Eligibility Requirements for American Legion Auxiliary Membership

A woman who is eligible for membership in The American Legion is also eligible to join the American Legion Auxiliary.
The mother, wife, daughter, sister, grand-daughter, great-grand-daughter, or grandmother of members of The American Legion, and deceased veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces during the listed war eras.National Guard and Reservists having been Federally activated (including basic training) during these same war eras also meet the eligibility requirements

Eligibility Requirements for Sons of American Legion Membership

To be eligible, you must be one of the following:

The male descendant (includes stepsons and adopted sons) of a current member of The American Legion.

or ...

The male descendant (stepsons and adopted sons included) of a veteran who died in service during World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Lebanon, Grenada, Panama, or the Persian Gulf War (see Eligibility Dates below).

or ...

The male descendant (stepsons and adopted sons included) of a veteran who died subsequent to (after) his or her honorable discharge from service in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Lebanon, Grenada, Panama, or the Persian Gulf War (see Eligibility Dates Above).

Eligibility Requirements for American Legion Riders Membership

To become a member, you must...

Be a current member in good standing of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary or Sons of the American Legion.
Be the owner of a motorcycle of at least 350cc engine displacement and must possess a valid driver's license in your state of residence (military equivalents acceptable as well) ~or~ must be the legal spouse of an ALR member in good standing within the Chapter of application.
